Adobe Associates, Inc. needs an engineer! We have an immediate opening for a full-time Entry Level Engineer with the sound technical ability to assist our project managers and project engineers with many aspects of design in land development and municipal civil engineering.
This position will report to the Project Manager, receive direction from the Project Engineer, and provide direction to the Engineering Technician.

Responsibilities for the entry level Design Engineer position include:
-Provide design solutions to civil engineering problems, direction, and assistance to our cad (computer-aided design) draftspersons and clients in a professional manner.
-Specifically assist in preparing grading, drainage, and utility plans for residential, commercial and industrial projects in the northern California region.
-Assist the project manager to design roads and driveways following various design codes and standards and prepare supplemental calculations related to the design.
-Perform hydrological analysis and hydraulic calculation to effectively route and size for storm drain networks.
-Assist in the design of project associated utility features like sanitary sewer drains, domestic and fire water systems.
-Analyze different waterline parameters for fire flow and domestic system using waterCAD.
-Perform engineering calculations and strategies to design for low impact development (lid) in order to mitigate negative water quality impacts due to development.
-Assist qualified SWPPP (storm water pollution prevention plans) practitioner to inspect site and in collecting site information before and during rain events to assure proper implementation of water quality practices at project site.
-Use of engineering and design software (AutoCAD), and technical equipment daily as essential tools for design work.
-Analyze reports (geotechnical reports, soil compaction reports, traffic analysis report), drawings and blueprints (pavement, concrete base, concrete streets, concrete bus pads, corner work, cross-sections, temp striping, road elevations, sewer, main water supply pipelines).
-Perform quantity estimates and cost calculations, based on analysis of collected data, applying experience and knowledge and techniques of engineering, codes and advanced mathematics.
-Prepares or direct preparation and modifications or reports, specifications, plans and construction scheduled (Microsoft Project) and budgets.
-Implement and oversee development of TCP (traffic control plans) for all stages of work.
-Participate in project meetings with public agencies and private clients.
-Communicate and coordinate with clients and inspectors to ensure project is progressing timely, and within established budgets.
-Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs.
-Anticipate and resolve issues associated with quality assurance and source inspection while maintaining standards, consistency, contract schedule, and contract cost.
-Builds productive relationships with organizations in and external to the engineering profession.
Salary from $80,621 per year / 40-hour week
Qualifications for Entry Level Design Engineer
The successful candidate will posses a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related, and 6 months or more of Civil Engineering Technician or related experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and WaterCAD required. In-depth knowledge in land development, hydrology & hydraulics, and a basic understanding of other Engineering disciplines. Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred.
